Bandwidth

The word bandwidth is used to mean the amount of data that can be transferred through a digital connection (the internet) in a given time period (i.e., the connection's bit rate). In such cases, bandwidth is usually measured in bits or bytes per second.

This means that every item on your website will use part of your monthly bandwidth each time it is viewed on someone's computer.

Large items like images or videos require more bandwidth to download onto a vewer's computer. Therefore it is essential that you monitor the amount of images on your website.

If your website uses large amounts of images, your bandwidth usage will increase. If you exceed your monthly bandwidth your site will be unavailable.

You may purchase more bandwidth if your usage is high.
